Following the large-scale fires that affected the municipalities of Castanheira de Pera, Figueiró the Wines and Pedrógão Grande, in June 2017, joined the Revita Fund 66 entities, with donations in money, goods and services. Cash donations amount to EUR 5.446.296,31. Given the extent of the responsibilities assumed by the Fund, the Ministry of Solidarity and Security Social increased the funding of the Revita Fund in EUR 2 500 000, which are in addition to the mentioned value.
Within the established framework of cooperation, the Revita Fund, through its Technical Commission, provided the distribution of houses to recover and rebuild in the three affected municipalities, but also in the municipalities adjacent to Góis, Pampilhosa, Sertã and Penela.
In this context, the various funds were allocated to the reconstruction of 259 first-dwelling houses, where It should be noted that, of this set, 246 are completed..
The Revita Fund is directly in charge of the rehabilitation of 99 houses, with a more intervention profile Most of them are complete reconstructions. At the end of March 2023, 89 these houses meet completed, 5 suspended, where 5 in progress. Financial implementation is more phased. paid, with regard to dwellings and their equipment, the total value of 3.103.620,78 euros.
The Board of Directors decided to apply part of the donations of the Revita Fund in the recovery of the activities of the agricultural producers and subsistence agriculture, thereby covering the Farmers who suffered losses more than € 1,053 and less than € 5,000, also due to the fires of June 2017 in the municipalities of Figueiró dos Vinhos, Castanheira de Pera and Pedrógão Grande.
In this context, subsidies have been awarded and processed to 1130 agricultural producers, in total value EUR 3.438.007,76. This has been done in response to duly identified needs not covered by public policy measures aimed at the areas and population affected by the fires, making a direct contribution for the well-being of the people and the revitalisation of the affected territories.
